It’s hard not to feel relaxed looking at the neutral calming palate of the interior of this personal vacation residence of New York based interior designer, Tom Scheerer. It even harder to not feel relaxed when you learn that it is in the Bahamas, and come on, that pool – really? You can find me there – all day, every day. This island escape helps reminds us of the laid back island pace that only a tropical island can bring, reflecting it throughout every room in the home. Keeping it simple and beachy, the white interior walls and black framed windows only help but to enhance the beauty that is surrounding this house. A few carefully placed pops of color in shades of blue and green pick up on sea, sky and lush vegetation that seem to become one with the house. Light woods and tones of soft beige help contrast the white walls and help support the laid back, beach-coma induced feeling this home does so well.
While I can’t indulge on my sudden desire to jump on the next flight to the Bahamas, I’ll enjoy dreaming of tranquil escapes like this until the beach and I meet again.
