It’s come around to that season again! No, not springtime, and not baseball season (my husbands favorite season), but the One Room Challenge season! If you’re not familiar with the One Room Challenge, let me enlighten you. It’s an online, semi-annual event hosted by Linda at Calling it Home. Around 200+ bloggers work to transform one space in their home over the course of six weeks- and share all the good, bad, and
ugly beautiful (I assure you, there is absolutely no ugly going on in this challenge) things that happen throughout the process.
I completed my first One Room Challenge, (or ORC) in the Fall and redesigned our family room. While the experience was a bit more stressful than anticipated (especially for an newbie blogger), it was a great experience overall. It was fun to see everyone’s spaces come together, and personally it really taught me a lot about my own style and how I design. After the big reveal, I knew I wanted to participate in the ORC again, and I’ve spent most of the time since trying to decide on which space to tackle! I was 99% set on reworking my back entryway and mudroom, but ultimately (like as in a few weeks ago!) I decided to I needed to focus on a space that was little more pressing.
My oldest son, Jackson, is turning 10 in two months (hello pre-teen years!), and his bedroom really has not been touched since he was about 2 years old. He really needs a refreshed space that he can hang out in. A space he can go to escape the little bro and the ‘rents! This project has been on my list for awhile, so I knew this challenge was the perfect time to stop putting it off and get it done!
I’ll share more details on the space and the overall vision on Thursday during the kickoff to the One Room Challenge. Until then, I thought I’d share a roundup of some modern boys bedrooms I’ve been collecting for inspiration and ideas on how to make this transformation amazing! I’m already getting excited for the reveal in 6 weeks!
Be sure to check back on Thursday to join in on the fun of the One Room Challenge and see all the design plans for Jackson’s new bedroom!
